A recent gallery showing in Toronto put the spotlight on the art work of a graduate of the Fine Arts program at Nipissing University and Canadore’s Arts and Craft, Ceramic program.

It was all a part of the #BMO200 campaign.

The bank is celebrating it’s bicentennial by fulfilling wishes made by Canadians.

Charlotte Bedard made the wish, saying her mom always wanted to pursue an art career, but family was her priority.

“All I could say was ‘surprise’, and then everybody started cheering. There were about 50 people there at the gallery and it was quite an incredible moment, and I was so proud to celebrate Mom,” she says.

Ginette Pelletier says she was completely surprised.

It just hit me,” she says “This is my art on the wall and the BMO people said ‘welcome Ginette, this is your exhibition, your opening night.”

Pelletier, who lives in Midland, now works full-time in an art gallery.

She also has another show coming up in January.
