After a busy stretch last weekend the North Bay Battalion will be idle this weekend.

The Troops went 2-0-0-1 at the OHL showcase in Buffalo and don’t play till Wednesday when they’ll be in Sudbury for a pre season tilt with the Wolves.

Coach Stan Butler says he was pleased with the effort in Buffalo:

” I was happy with our guys. It was a good way to start the year off and for the most part was pleased with the team. ”

The Troops won in a shootout over Kitchener, lost in a shootout to Windsor but rallied after falling behind 3-0 and then thumped Flint 6-1.

Butler says he’s in no hurry to pare down his roster at this point with the regular season just two weeks away.

The Troops are carrying 27 players and two of them Riley Bruce and Jacob Ball are out with injuries and Butler is hinting at some lineup surprises:

” there probably will be a few more guys who were on last years team that won’t be on this years team. There’s an old adage you move up or move out.”
