Nipissing First Nation has received some great news.

The Anishnabek Nation’s new education body KED (Kinoomaadziwin)will be located in the Nipissing First Nation

Chief Scott McLeod says the centre will be operating out of one of their existing facilities until construction is finished sometime in the fall of next year.

He says they’re still assessing the economic impact of having the centre on the Nipissing First Nation.

He says there’s the actual construction and what that entails in terms of jobs plus the people who are going to work there when the facility is built.

McLeod says they haven’t picked an exact location yet for the centre but it will probably be located near North Bay.
