A northern Ontario curler and his team are hoping for a repeat.

In 2013, Brad Jacobs and the foursome from Sault Ste, Marie  were victorious at the Roar of the Rings and that qualified them as the Canadian representative in men’s curling at the Olympics in Russia and they won gold.

This years trials are in December in Ottawa.

Jacobs says it’s part of a busy season and they’re taking it one event at a time and trying not to put too much pressure on themselves.

He says the Olympic competition is different than any other event they play.

He says everyone’s out there to win and there’s more pressure too and it’s more intense.
Next season, the World Women’s championship will be at Memorial Gardens and Jacobs encourages people to check out the action.

He says this event will be great for curling in Northern Ontario and for the city and the surrounding area.

He says the level of women’s curling keeps improving.
