This past weekend saw the North Bay North Stars taking part in a fun tournament in Kitchener.

Over 20 teams registered with Special Hockey International, a program that allows children and adults with special needs to take part in a hockey program, were involved in the event.

The North Stars junior team won all three of their games while the senior team came away with a win in their final game.

“The whole special hockey experience is just so inspiring” said North Stars manager Sharon Fung. “It is about participating in a sport, belonging to a team, meeting new friends and most of all celebrating ability and feeling part of a large and accepting family. I’m extremely proud of how the team members represent our city”

The North Stars will be hosting the Electric City Maroon and White from Peterborough on March 5th at Pete Palangio Arena from 2-4 pm.
