There’s plenty of excitement as North Bay‘s biggest summer party is already underway.

Summer In The Park activities are already taking place with the midway opening yesterday beside the Discovery North Bay Museum.

Chair John Strang says the highlight for many is the entertainment on the main stage as there will be no shortage of that starting on Friday with the featured performer being Hedley.

He says on Saturday it’s Cory Marquardt and Tim Hicks.

Also on Saturday will be Kiefer Sutherland.

Sunday’s major highlight includes Michael White and The White.

Strang says they will also have 7 local bands on Sunday starting at 2 pm.

Also performing on Friday are Coleman Hell, Ria Mae and David Dino White.

Jamie Gabbani is also scheduled on Saturday.

And the Sunday performers include Goodnight Sunrise and Break The Trend.

A reminder that no pets other than service dogs are allowed on the grounds.

Strang says they are close to their wrist band selling goal.

At last check he says they were up to 53 Hundred.

He says they kept the price at 35 dollars until Monday and that has paid off with people waiting for the weather forecast before purchasing.

He says that forecast looks promising with plenty of sunshine.

Some of the other events and activities besides the concerts are The Royal Ontario Museum Exhibit Egypt Gift Of The Nile, The OVA Elite Grand Slam Beach Volleyball Tournament, The Hole in 1 contest, Helicopter Rides, The Northern Ontario Cricket Tournament, Inflatable Land, face painting, button making, tethered hot air balloon rides and a stunt dog show.
