labour councilLocal Labour officials have a number of concerns and suggestions for the province when it comes to the review of the Labour Relations Act and the Employment Standards Act.

They were in Sudbury on Thursday for the province’s “Changing Workplaces Review” hearings.

North Bay and District Labour Council President Henri Giroux says they appreciate the government listening to what the employees have to say.

He says one issue is decent wages while another is paid sick leave.

In terms of the Labour Relations Act, Giroux says they’re looking for changes so it’s easier for employees to join or form unions while they also have concerns surrounding first contracts being negotiated and anti-scab rules.

As for what’s next, Giroux says they’re going to visit various MPP’s and see about getting them on board.
